Valens Semiconductor Ltd (NYSE:VLN) shares are trading higher in premarket on Wednesday.

The company said that its VA7000 chipsets, which comply with the MIPI A-PHY standard, will provide the core connectivity for the Mobileye Global Inc’s (NASDAQ:MBLY) EyeQ6 High system-on-chip (SoC).

These chipsets will support automated and autonomous vehicle manufacturing programs in association with major automakers, aiming to improve high-speed communication between sensors and onboard computing systems.

After thorough testing, Mobileye chose Valens’ VA7000 chipset for its good performance in various criteria. This represents a significant step for MIPI A-PHY, the automotive industry's first standardized solution for high-speed sensor and display connectivity.

“SoCs can only ever be as good as the sensor data inputs they operate on, and Mobileye’s selection of our VA7000 chipset proves that our solution is well positioned to deliver that data at high accuracy,” said CEO of Valens Semiconductor, Gideon Ben-Zvi.

Designed to meet the demands of next-generation advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), the standard ensures high-bandwidth, low-latency communication while upholding strict safety requirements.

The collaboration underscores the growing adoption of MIPI A-PHY technology as automakers seek reliable, high-speed solutions for autonomous driving applications.

Valens Semiconductor became the first company to bring A-PHY-compliant products to market with its VA7000 chipset.

Price Action: VLN shares traded higher by 7.841% at $2.20 in premarket at last check Wednesday.
