Autoliv Posts Better-Than-Expected Earnings, Joins Hertz Global, Perion Network And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Wednesday

U.S. stocks were lower, with the Dow Jones index falling around 250 points on Wednesday.

Shares of Autoliv, Inc. (NYSE:ALV) rose sharply during Wednesday's session after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results.

Autoliv reported quarterly earnings of $2.15 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.67 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $2.58 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.52 billion.

Autoliv shares jumped 7.5% to $88.42 on Wednesday.

Here are some other big stocks recording gains in today's session.

  • Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:HTZ) shares jumped 15.6% to $4.22 after Pershing Square Capital Management disclosed via a 13F that it bought 12.7 million shares in the company.
  • Webull Corporation (NASDAQ:BULL) surged 12.2% to $45.89 after the company announced the closing of its business combination transaction with SK Growth Opportunities Corp.
  • Perion Network Ltd. (NASDAQ:PERI) rose 10.8% to $9.00 as the company announced preliminary first quarter 2025 results.
  • USA Rare Earth, Inc. (NASDAQ:USAR) gained 10.7% to $14.97.
  • IAMGOLD Corporation (NYSE:IAG) shares rose 10% to $8.19. Shares of gold stocks traded higher amid a rally in the value of the commodity past the price of $3300 and towards an all-time high.
  • MP Materials Corp. (NYSE:MP) rose 9.4% to $27.44.
  • Sibanye Stillwater Limited (NYSE:SBSW) gained 9% to $4.8850. Shares of gold stocks traded higher amid a rally in the value of the commodity past the price of $3300 and towards an all-time high.
  • Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE:UUUU) gained 8.8% to $4.4950.
  • Wabash National Corporation (NYSE:WNC) rose 7.7% to $9.88.
  • Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. (NASDAQ:GO) gained 6.2% to $14.77. Jefferies analyst Corey Tarlowe upgraded Grocery Outlet Holding from Hold to Buy and raised the price target from $13 to $18.
